Currently Rayo Vallecano are a club in a financially dire situation. Which could cause a mass exodus from the club in order to save the club. One name is cropping up more than all other’s when talking of transfers and that is Miguel Pérez Cuesta who is better known as Michu. Michu is currently valued at around £8million but due to the financial instability at Rayo Vallecano, he could be available for a cut price.
This season in La Liga Michu was the highest scoring midfielder, rather impressive when you consider the competition at Spanish giants, Real Madrid and Barcelona. Michu netted seventeen times in all competitions last season making him Vallecano’s top goalscorer. Michu signed two-year deal from Celta Vigo last season and currently has a year to run on his contract and due to the money troubles that have befallen Vallecano they won’t want to lose him on a free transfer.
According to the Daily Mail a whole host of English clubs are keeping tabs on the twenty-six year old midfielder including Manchester United, Liverpool and Fulham plus a few others.
Michu is a tall midfielder who can play left wing or attacking midfield, he stands at 6ft1 and is predominantly left footed. A midfielder that can finish with guile and finesse or unleash a lethal rocket from the edge of the box, a strong player tough to knock off the ball and an unassuming character who simply tries his best for his team. A very humble type of player.
According to the Daily Mail, Michu could be available for as little as £3million as cash-strapped Vallecano look to cash in on their star midfielder. With the two biggest clubs lining up the former Real Ovedo and Celta Vigo star being Liverpool and Manchester United, I guess Michu’s biggest quandary will be Champions League or Europa League?
