Premiership giants battle for Hamburg starlet

Daily Mail is reporting that a number of Premier League sides are showing interest in Hamburg wonderkid Jonathan Tah.

The 17-year-old is already considered a first team regular at Imtech Arena and has started 14 Bundesliga matches this season while making another substitute appearance.

Some impressive showings at the back have seen him catch the eye of England’s top clubs that include Liverpool, Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United.

The youngster has recently signed a two-year extension with the Red Shorts that ties him to the club until June 2018, but the player’s father believes the contract is not valid.

Namely, FIFA rules only allow players under the age of 18 to be contracted for up to three years and Tah currently has more than four years left on his deal.

The highly rated defender did initially sign a three-year contract but was then handed a two-year extension in November 2013.
