Premiership move beckons for Miguel Lopes

Sporting Lisbon full-back Miguel Lopes is on the verge of moving to English Premier League, according to O Jogo.

The 28-year-old has largely struggled for playing time since returning from a loan spell at Lyon, making mere three league appearances for the Lions this season.

As a result, there is every chance he will again be farmed out on loan this winter, with a host of Premier League sides showing interest in his services.

Tottenham Hotspur aim to recruit Lopes as a replacement for Swansea-bound Kyle Naughton, but the likes of Sunderland, Aston Villa, Stoke and QPR are keen as well.

Miguel Lopes spent the majority of his career in Portugal, representing all four Primeira Liga’s top sides, while enjoying loan spells with Real Betis and Lyon.

He now looks set to leave Estadio Jose Alvalade on temporary basis, with a permanent exit clearly on the cards at the end of the season.
