Preston 7/4 to beat Blackburn in Saturday’s Championship showdown

Competition: Championship

Market: Preston win

Odds: 7/4 @ Bet 365

Two sides enduring a very different run of success, a struggling Blackburn side will welcome Preston to Ewood Park on Saturday.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of another worrying display in their 3-2 loss away at relegation contenders Rotherham last weekend, Tony Mowbray has seen his side freefall out the top half of the table. Losing five of their last six Championship appearances and failing to pick up a single win in February, fans around Ewood Park will be growing more concerned by their form in Lancashire. Rovers have lost their last two matches on home soil and have also failed to register a single goal in those defeats. Also slipping to a 4-1 loss when they faced off against Preston back in December, Saturday could prove to be another rough afternoon.

As for the visitors, while Blackburn might be enduring their most difficult spell of the season, the same can not be said for a resurgent Preston. Taking points off leading playoff contenders Bristol City last weekend, Alex Neil’s side are unbeaten in their last eight league appearances a run that goes all the way back to New Year’s Day. Dreaming off a very surprising playoff push at the back end of the season, it has been Preston’s form on the road most impressing Neil. The Whites have now won their last four matches away from Deepdale, scoring two or more goals in each victory.
