(GSM) – Brazil begin their quest for a sixth World Cup title on Tuesday when they open Group G play against Korea DPR.

For the Samba Boys, there is – as always – a plethora of talent at every position, and the players are desperate to make a good showing for themselves after being dumped out in the knockout rounds in 2006.

Meanwhile, it is the first World Cup since 1966 for an unknown side in Korea DPR, and they rate to be rank outsiders in the so-called Group of Death along with Portugal and Côte d’Ivoire.

One of the strengths of the Brazilian side that is a bit of a new luxury is the presence of Inter Milan goalkeeper Júlio César, rated as one of the best in the world. He will, however, have to overcome injury concerns before the game or else Heurelho Gomes will be forced into action.

The rest of Dunga’s squad could be fit, and it may still be that the red-hot Ramires finds a place in the starting XI.

Brazil looked solid in pre-World Cup friendly wins over Tanzania and Zimbabwe, and they will look to bring their high-flying style right at the minnows.

Korea DPR will rely on their own goalkeeper, Ri Myong-Guk, as he and his defenders would figure to have a lot to do against the organized attacking machine that is Brazil.

If they can get some chances, leading scorers Jong Tae-Se and captain Hong Yong-Jo. Those two are among the only three players in the Korea DPR team not based in their homeland.

Midfielder Kim Yong-Jun is suspended for the game.
