(GSM) – The United States and Algeria face off in a crucial match in Group C. The stakes are high at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria as both sides can still qualify for the next round. Team USA are ranked second in the group with two points while Algeria have gathered one point from their first two matches.

Both sides will have drawn inspiration from the last match as the Americans bounced back from a 2-0 deficit against Slovenia while the Algerians managed to register a 0-0 draw against England.

However, the United States suffered a heartbreak near the end of the match when a clear goal by Maurice Edu was controversially disallowed by referee Coulibaly.

The Algerians hope to find back their sharpness in front of goal: they have only managed to score once in their last four matches including two friendly preparation matches against Ireland and the United Arab Emirates.
