As always, this segment will include betting odds, match previews and predictions for Saturday’s Premier League games.
Fulham v Swansea City and Wigan Athletic v West Bromwich Albion are the only two English Premier League fixtures on the matchday schedule for Saturday, March 17, with the rest of next week’s Premier League matches are scheduled on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Now then, let’s get started.
Betting Odds
Fulham (9/10) v Swansea City (15/4); Draw (5/2)
Wigan Athletic (19/10) v West Bromwich Albion (13/8); Draw (12/5)
Preview: Fulham v Swansea City
Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers leads the high-flying Swans to Craven Cottage to battle Martin Jol’s Fulham on Saturday.
Swansea and Fulham share identical records, 9-9-10, through 28 league games, with Fulham ahead in the table on goal difference.
Despite their even records, Fulham are far superior at home (7-4-3), while Swansea struggle away from Liberty Stadium (3-3-8).
All things considered, Fulham will surely fancy their chances at Craven Cottage on Saturday, especially when considering their recent purple patch.
“The last month or so has been very encouraging,” Mark Schwarzer confirmed. “We’ve played some fantastic football and deservedly went on a very good run where we won three matches in succession.”
“Saturday is another big game for us,” added Schwarzer. “We’re at home and it goes without saying that we’re looking to pick up as many points as possible at the Cottage.”
Prediction
Fulham get the win, 2-0 Cottagers.
Preview: Wigan Athletic v West Bromwich Albion
West Brom travel to DW Stadium to take on bottom of the table Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Wigan are a dismal 1-6-7 at home, while Albion are an impressive 6-3-5 away from The Hawthorns.
In addition, Wigan have won just one of their last 13 league games. On the other side of the touchline, West Brom have won three of the their last four Premier League fixtures.
All signs pointing to a win for the visitors at the moment.
Players to Watch
Former Crystal Palace winger Victor Moses, who scored his third Premier League goal of the season last week against Norwich City, is the danger man for Wigan Athletic.
Moses has undoubtedly been Wigan’s player of the season, bagging three goals and one assist in 29 games in all competitions in 2011-12.
For West Brom, in-form talisman Peter Odemwingie is surely the man to watch.
The Nigeria international got off to a lackluster start in the Premier League, but has regained his 2010-11 form, tallying five goals in his last four league appearances.
Prediction
The visitors keep Wigan bottom, 2-1 Albion.
