The UEFA Champions League quarter-finals take center stage tomorrow night, with FC Barcelona are scheduled to battle Serie A giants AC Milan at the Camp Nou and Bayern Munich set to host Marseille at the Allianz Arena.
As always, this segment will include betting odds, match previews and match predictions for Tuesday’s fixtures. Let’s get started.
Betting Odds
FC Barcelona (3/10) v AC Milan (12/1); Draw (21/4)
Bayern Munich (2/7) v Marseille (12/1); Draw (21/4)
Bet of the Day
Tuesday’s bet of the day is Milan to earn a draw at the Camp Nou against Barca, paying out 21/4.
Preview: FC Barcelona v AC Milan
AC Milan travel to the Camp Nou to take on La Liga giants FC Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals on Tuesday night.
Milan are huge underdogs after the first leg in Italy ended in a 0-0 draw, but the Catalans won’t feel all that confident after being unable to unlock the Rossoneri defence last week.
Rossoneri boss Massimiliano Allegri is treating the return leg of the quarter-final as if it were a final.
“We must play as we did in the opening leg and make sure we don’t concede a goal,” Allegri said.
“This game is like a final and we are ready.”
Players to Watch
Lionel Messi is the player to watch for the Catalans. The little Argentine has bagged 12 goals and four assists in eight Champions League starts in 2011-12.
Can Messi lead Barca to yet another UCL semi-final?
On the other side of the touchline, former Barcelona striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will surely be looking to end the Catalans’ Champions League dream on Tuesday night.
The Swedish international has tallied five goals and three assists in seven UCL starts this season.
Prediction
Nothing to separate the two sides, 1-1 draw. Milan go through.
Preview: Bayern Munich v Marseille
Bayern Munich will host Ligue 1 outfit Marseille in the return leg of the UCL quarter-finals at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night.
The Bavarians have a 2-0 advantage in the tie after defeating the French outfit at the Stade Vélodrome on Wednesday, March 28.
Despite leading 2-0 on aggregate, Bayern Munich manager Jupp Heynckes has pledged to use his best starting XI on Tuesday.
“My line-up will not be influenced at all,” Heynckes said.
“Also, I think we have very intelligent players in our team who know how to behave on the field.
“Of course we have a psychological advantage from the result of the first leg, but against Dortmund (when they came from behind to win 3-2), Marseille proved what they could do in the Champions League.”
Now then, will Marseille be able to erase a 2-0 deficit and shock the Bavarians at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday night?
I wouldn’t bet on it.
Prediction
Bayern cruise into the semi-finals, 2-0 Bavarians.
