PSG 3-0 AC Milan: What Were The Main Talking Points As The French Giants Run Rampant In Paris?

Putting in what was a rampant Champions League performance on Wednesday night, PSG cruised their way to a routine 3-0 romp against AC Milan in Paris.

Seeking an immediate European response following their infamous 4-1 drumming away at Newcastle earlier in the month, Luis Enrqiue’s side opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark as attacking talisman Kylian Mbappe notched his second Champions League strike of the season.

While many might have expected the French giants to face a rugged test in Paris here, the reigning Ligue 1 champions certainly enjoyed a major flurry when returning from the half-time break.

Notching his second second Champions League goal of the season here and causing AC Milan a string of defensive issues, Mbappe knows that he is the key to PSG’s European charge this season.

Now registering five goals in just his previous four appearances for club and country over the past fortnight, the record-breaking Mbappe appears to have hit top gear at a crucial time for the Champions League dreamers.

Milan seeking a Champions League scrap now

Reaching the Champions League semi-finals last season and gaining a string of public praise, AC Milan opened this year’s European adventure riding an extended wave of momentum.

However, while the Italian heavyweights might have come flying out of the traps when opening up the new Serie A campaign back in August, Stefano Pioli’s side have struggled to find any kind of stability on the European stage so far.

Getting their Group F run underway with back-to-back 0-0 stalemates against Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle respectively, AC now face a major uphill battle in their bid to punch another knockout stage ticket.
