(GSM) – Former Serbia striker Mateja Kežman has parted ways with Ligue 1 giants PSG after the club decided to terminate his contract with mutual consent.

Kežman, who has managed just five goals in two years since he signed from Turkish side Fenerbahçe, would have seen his current contract expire next summer but both parties have agreed to end the much-travelled striker’s deal ahead of schedule.

The former Chelsea and PSV frontman had made just two substitute appearances for PSG this term having spent last season on loan at Russian outfit Zenit Saint Petersburg.

“Paris St Germain and Mateja Kežman has reached an agreement today to terminate the player’s contract,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The club wishes to thank Mateja for his professionalism during his time in the colours of Paris. We wish him every success for the rest of his career.”

Mateja Kežman managed just five goals in 25 league appearances for PSG since first signing on loan from Fenerbahce in 2008. He joined the French club on a permanent deal a year later but failed to establish himself as a first-team regular.
