Paris Saint-Germain coach Paul Le Guen praised Mickaël Landreau for the goalkeeper’s five-star display which helped the club from the capital into the last 16 of the UEFA Cup on Thursday.
The French international twice denied Edin Dzeko in the opening stages, before Luyindula made it mission impossible for the German hosts by netting a penalty just before the break.
“They really went for it, and we weren’t in the match. We gave them a lot of chances, but we’ve got a good goalkeeper,” said Le Guen. “We had a bit of luck, and managed to get ourselves back into the game. It’s true that they took a lot of risks, and created chances, but they also left themselves open at the back.”
