Paris Saint-Germain are stepping up their efforts to recruit Marseille star Lassana Diarra, France Football has learned.
It is no secret that the Saints plan to sign the 30-year-old in the summer, and they have now received a major boost in their pursuit.
Namely, Marseille would prefer to keep hold of their prized asset, but the poor financial situation may prove a stumbling block.
Diarra’s former club Lokomotiv Moscow believe they are entitled to a transfer fee from the player’s move to Stade Velodrome and if their appeal is successful, OM would be unable to pay the reported €10 million fee.
On the other hand, PSG would be more than happy to cover the cost, obviously provided Marseille allow the midfielder to move to Parc des Princes.
PSG will be in Champions League action tomorrow evening and they can be backed at 17/10 to win at Stamford Bridge.
