Paris Saint-Germain are considering the possibility of swooping for Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to Football Insider.
The Belgian returned to Stamford Bridge last summer after spells with Everton, Manchester United and Inter Milan, setting Chelsea back for €115 million. However, his time back in London hasn’t gone exactly as planned, with manager Thomas Tuchel preferring versatile attacking players to form fluid lines upfront, leaving very little to do for a classic centre-forward. Lukaku himself hinted at the move back to Chelsea possibly being a mistake and at an apparent desire to return to Inter, where he won the Scudetto in 2020-21.
Meanwhile, PSG are in the process of preparing for life without Kylian Mbappe. The 23-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and his move to Real Madrid appears imminent at this point. His departure would leave a gaping hole upfront for the French giants, and this is where Lukaku is supposed to come in, providing he is interested in moving to the French capital instead of back to Milan and a deal with Chelsea is struck.
