Paris Saint-Germain are hot on the trail of PSV Eindhoven midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, reports Radio Monte Carlo.
Having failed in their attempts to recruit Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid, the Saints turned their attention towards the Netherlands starlet.
According to Radio Monte Carlo, the French giants have been in contact with the player’s representatives, but PSV officials informed them that Wijnaldum would not be leaving the club this summer having just signed a new deal until 2018.
Nevertheless, PSG remain interested in the highly rated midfielder and will probably reignite their interest in January.
PSV Eindhoven produced quite a coup when they snatched Wijnaldum from Feyenoord three years ago, and the midfielder in turn developed into a world-class player.
While scoring 29 goals in 79 Eredivisie appearances for the club, the 23-year-old managed to nail down a regular starting berth in the national team and went on to feature in all seven matches, scoring one goal, as Netherlands achieved a third-place finish at the 2014 World Cup.
