PSG in €75m bid for Busquets
Catalan daily newspaper Sport has suggested that Paris Saint-Germain submitted a mega money offer for Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.
The Saints are looking to add some fresh blood to the centre of the park and have been linked with moves for Paul Pogba and Yaya Toure.
However, they ultimately decided to try and lure Sergio Busquets to Parc des Princes, having offered €75 million to sign the highly rated footballer.
According to Sport, Barcelona decided to reject the proposal as they see the Spain international as a key member of the squad and in turn started talks over a new deal.
Busquets is set to become the club’s fourth highest-paid player after Leo Messi, Xavi and Andres Iniesta, meaning he is not available for sale.
The 26-year-old has already made 201 La Liga appearances for the Catalans, while earning 74 Spain caps.
Everton keen on Real’s Casemiro
Premier League outfit Everton are keeping close tabs on Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro, the Daily Mirror has learned.
The Toffees have watched the 22-year-old on several occasions this term with a view of luring him to Goodison Park next summer.
Casemiro joined FC Porto on a season-long loan last July and he has since impressed playing for the Dragons in Primeira Liga and Champions League.
As a result, he may earn a place in Real Madrid squad for the 2015/2016 campaign, but Everton hope they can persuade los Blancos to allow the Brazilian to join them on loan.
Casemiro featured in 18 league matches for the Dragons this term, scoring 3 goals, while he started all seven Champions League fixtures.
After holding FC Basel to a 1-1 draw at St Jakob-Park, FC Porto can be backed at 8/15 to win the return match at Estadio do Dragao.
Bellarabi signs new Leverkusen deal
Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen have announced on their official website that star player Karim Bellarabi has signed a new five-year deal with the club.
The 24-year-old had only inked a new contract until June 2017 two months ago, but he has now been rewarded with a three-year extension.
Bellarabi, who quickly developed into a key player at Bay Arena, admits he is delighted to be working under Roger Schmidt.
“I’ve taken a massive step forwards in my development under coach Roger Schmidt this term,” Bellarabi told the official Leverkusen website. “I’ve become a much better player under his guidance and in his system.
“I’ve never experienced the kind of trust Roger Schmidt has placed in me, though. I’ll give my all to pay both him and the club back for that.”
Bellarabi returned to Bayer Leverkusen last summer after a successful loan spell with Eintracht Braunschweig, and he has since bagged 9 goals in 21 league appearances, while also starting three Euro 2016 qualifiers for Germany.
