French giants Paris Saint-Germain are stepping up their efforts to recruit Swiss defender Ricardo Rodriguez from Wolfsburg.
The Saints have been following the 24-year-old footballer for quite some time and they finally seem ready to make their interest concrete.
Namely, with veteran full-back Maxwell nearing the end of his playing days, PSG see Rodriguez as a perfect long-term successor who will be vying Layvin Kurzawa for a starting berth at Parc des Princes.
Radio Monte Carlo claims that the Saints have established initial contact with the player’s representatives, which could suggest they are preparing a January bid for his services.
Considering that Wolfsburg are going through a very difficult period at the moment, Rodriguez may feel this is the right time to leave the club.
The attacking full-back has so far managed 22 goals and 27 assists in 172 competitive outings for the Wolves.
