PSG keen on Evra; France goalkeeper becomes free agent

PSG keen on Evra

French newspaper Le Parisien reports that Paris Saint-Germain are readying bid for Manchester United defender Patrice Evra.

Despite some promising showings in the Champions League, PSG owners are not satisfied with team’s performances this season, given that the Saints are largely struggling in French Ligue 1.

It is for that reason that they plan to further reinforce the squad in January and hopefully revive team’s title push.

Le Parisien suggests that the French giants are pondering a move for Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra.

While the Frenchman’s quality and experience are things that would be very valuable to the Saints, Qatari owners also believe Evra would be able to reunite the dressing room considering he speaks French, English and Italian.

With the 31-year-old clearly past his prime and his replacement Alexander Buttner showing a lot of promise, there is every chance Manchester United will be prepared to sell him if the price is right.

France goalkeeper becomes free agent

Lille goalkeeper Mickael Landreau has had his contract with the club rescinded, according to L’Equipe.

The France international, who had a contract until June 2014 with les Dogues, asked club chiefs to have his contract canceled after a series of clashes with boss Rudi Garcia.

L’Equipe reports that the 33-year-old has been granted his wish, meaning he is now free to sign for another club.

The experienced goalkeeper hasn’t missed a single league game over the last two and a half seasons, although his performances this term have not been of the highest level.

Landreau is still regarded as third choice keeper in France national team and he will have no shortage of offers in the coming weeks.

Playing for Nantes, PSG and Lille, Landreau made a total of 568 Ligue 1 appearances, while he also has 11 les Bleus caps to his name.

Leverkusen make Renato Augusto available for sale

Bayer Leverkusen has revealed they plan to cash in on playmaker Renato Augusto in the winter transfer window.

Augusto, 24, developed into a key player at Bay Arena shortly upon his arrival from Flamengo, but has lost his place in the side under new boss Sami Hyypia.

The player has since informed club chiefs of his desire to leave the Bundesliga outfit and coach Sascha Lewandowski admits the club are prepared to part ways with the Brazilian.

“That (January exit) is the idea, it is true, but there is still nothing concrete,” Lewanowski told reporters after the Europa League win over Rosenborg.

Renato Augusto is heavily linked with a return to Brazil, where his former club Flamengo and Corinthians are showing interest.

The talented midfielder has scored 9 goals and produced 18 assists in exactly 100 Bundesliga games for Bayer Leverkusen.
