Schalke and Anzhi battling for Farfan’s signature
German Bundesliga side Schalke are ready to offer star player Jeferson Farfan a lucrative new deal, according to Bild.
The player’s contract with the Miners is set to expire at the end of the season, and talks regarding a new deal are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Russian Premier League side Anzhi have shown interest in the player, with club billionaire owner Suleyman Kerimov eager to add Farfan to his start-studded squad.
Schalke are reportedly ready to offer the player a new deal worth €6 million per season, and the player admits he could sign a contract extension.
“I carry this club in my heart and I feel very well here,” Farfan was quoted as saying in Bild.
“I enjoy my work with Schalke 04. I know that a lot is being said about the issue, but nothing has been decided.
“That is something between my advisor and the club. I concentrate only on my game.
However, Farfan admits that the prospect of playing Champions League football will serious influence his next career move.
“Every player wants to play Champions League as much as possible. That is also my goal.”

The veteran forward attracted a lot of interest with his performances for Bologna over the last few years, but he ultimately decided to stay at Renato Dall’Ara.
The player now reveals that Napoli were one of the interested sides.
“In the summer they wanted me, as Napoli were preparing for the Champions League, but I said no because I love Bologna and want to finish my career here,” Di Vaio told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 35-year-old has been in impressive scoring form at Bologna, having scored 55 goals in last three Serie A campaigns.
