Paris Saint-Germain have opened talks with Neymar over a new contract, according to Sky Sports.
The Ligue 1 champions have a situation on their hands where their two biggest stars should enter the final 12 months of their contracts at the same time – this summer, and various reports suggest they’ve decided to handle the issues separately, in different ways.
Having appointed Mauricio Pochettino as the head coach recently, they’ve obviously decided to keep hold of Neymar. The Brazilian is apparently happy in the French capital, despite numerous jabs from the Spanish press over the last two summers about a potential return to Barcelona. Nonetheless, the talks have only just begun and a final decision is yet to be reached.
On the other hand, reports suggest that Kylian Mbappe could be sold this summer, as a sacrifice necessary to create room both in terms of team places and financial structure, for the planned arrivals of Lionel Messi from Barcelona and Sergio Aguero from Manchester City.
