Wijnaldum left Liverpool as a free agent at the end of last season, having played a huge part in their quest to return to the top. He made a total of 237 appearances in all competitions for the Merseysiders, helping them land the 2019 triple of the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup, as well as the Premier League in 2020.
The experienced Dutch international was on the brink of joining Barcelona for a while, but PSG swooped in and eventually stole the show. However, things haven’t gone exactly as planned for him in the French capital. He has started only seven of 17 Ligue 1 matches his team has played so far.
