PSG prepare €50 million bid for Hazard
Paris Saint-Germain are readying a big money move for Lille winger Eden Hazard, L’Equipe reports.
The Saints have splashed almost €100 million on new players following the arrival of new Qatari owners, and are eager to further reinforce the squad in January.
Paris Saint-Germain have climbed to Ligue 1 summit thanks to the five-match winning run, with club owners looking to ensure the team stays there come end of the season.
According to L’Equipe, the Saints are ready to offer €50 million for Lille star Eden Hazard as they look to add more quality to the front line.
Les Dogues would probably be powerless to resist such a bid, although Paris Saint-Germain could face stiff competition from other interested clubs.
Real Madrid, Arsenal and few other European giants are also keen, meaning that we could see a real bidding war for the player’s services in January.
Hazard has already stated his preference for Real Madrid, but that will be of no significance unless los Blancos manage to match PSG’s expected bid.
Sneijder claims Inter inquired about PSV star
Inter star Wesley Sneijder has revealed that club chiefs asked for his opinion on PSV midfielder Kevin Strootman.
The 21-year-old midfielder only joined PSV Eindhoven this summer, but he immediately proved his credentials and is now wanted by big European sides.
Italian giants Inter have been alerted of the player’s potential and Wesley Sneijder admits he has been asked about his international teammate.
“Technical director (Marco) Branca asked what I thought of Kevin (Strootman),” Wesley Sneijder told De Telegraaf.
“I have been often asked about my opinion. Quality is always welcome. And he has it.”
The player who already has six Netherlands caps to his name signed a five-year deal upon arriving from Utrecht.
With no release clauses inserted in his deal, Inter will have to splash the cash in order to get their man.
Club president reveals Premier League interest in Eredivisie hotshots
VVV Venlo forwards Ahmed Musa and Michael Uchebo are tracked by a number of Premier League sides, according to the club’s president.
Arsenal scouts have been watching Ahmed Musa closely and they appear ready to step their interest in the 19-year-old.
However, with Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham also interested, the Gunners could face a fierce competition for the player’s signature.
On the other hand, Stoke City have been showing interest in Michael Uchebo, as confirmed by VVV Venlo chairman.
“The interest is very serious,” Hai Berden was quoted as saying in Voetbal International.
Uchebo’s contract with the Eredivisie side is set to expire at the end of the season, and the only thing that could block his move to Stoke would be failure to obtain a work permit.
“He has amassed a lot of youth team caps for Nigeria. And if a club like Stoke gives him a large salary, then there is a reason for the authorities to admit him,” Berden continued.
“A sale in the winter is very interesting for us.”
