According to Miguel Delaney of the Independent, Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to give up on Kylian Mbappe and they’re preparing a fresh offer for him to consider.
Apparently, the new contract they’re about to put on Mbappe’s table is set to run for no more than two years, until the summer of 2024, and have him earn €100 million per season, while wearing the captain’s armband instead of Marquinhos.
Mbappe’s current deal is about to expire, and Real Madrid believe the 23-year-old will opt to move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer as a free agent, rather than accept anything offered by PSG. However, the player hasn’t given either side an answer, and with the end of the season looming ever closer, it stands to reason to question the foundations of Real’s confidence.
In the case Mbappe stays in Paris, accepting a two-year contract, it would also raise the question of whether Real need to move for an alternative target, or they simply wait to revisit the situation in the near future, continuing to rely in the meantime on the evergreen Karim Benzema.
