Ever since he left Barcelona last summer for a world-record fee of €222million, Neymar has been a target of reports from Spanish media who continuously claim he’s unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain. Recently, a host of reports appeared linking the Brazilian with a move to Barcelona’s arch-rival Real Madrid. Some have even claimed he had met with Real’s representatives while recovering from his metatarsal injury in Brazil to discuss a potential deal.
But now, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi says he’s “2000%” certain his star player will not be leaving the club any time soon. Speaking to French outlet Le Parisien, Al Khelaifi said the Spanish media had been spouting stories about Neymar’s alleged unhappiness for a while now and has dismissed such reports as unfounded. He said Neymar wants to be at PSG and pointed out that the player is under contract.
If so, it would seem that the Spanish press are still having a hard time accepting that a world-class player left one of their top clubs and has no intention of returning to La Liga.
