Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is set to talk to Adrien Rabiot to discuss the midfielder’s future this week, according to Sport.
The negotiations between the club and the player have been going back and forth for a long time now, and so far the club haven’t been able to convince the 23-year-old to put pen to paper and commit his long-term future to them. Reports claimed three offers had been put on the table and rejected with his wage demands said to be at the centre of the problem, before Canal + reported a month ago that a new deal was close.
However, it hasn’t been signed yet, and now the club president has decided to step in personally and try to reason with Rabiot. Al-Khelaifi believes the best thing for the France international would be to remain at the Parc Des Princes beyond next summer, which is when his current deal expires.
Rabiot has been linked with a number of clubs, including Barcelona, Liverpool, Juventus and Bayern Munich, and Sport, being a Catalan outlet and keeping their focus on Barcelona, believe that the La Liga champions fear Al-Khelaifi will succeed in convincing the player to remain in Paris.
