Tottenham Hotspur central defender Toby Alderweireld is edging closer to Spurs departure.
The 29-year-old Belgium star is yet to agree a new contract with his club after talks hit the roadblock and Alderweireld’s Tottenham future is now in doubt.
Alderweireld is on a contract expiring in the summer of 2019 but it contains a one-year extension clause that would extend his stay until 2020. The contract, however, includes a more than affordable £25 million release clause which has sparked interest from the host of Europe’s top clubs.
The likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Barcelona are all monitoring his situation but the latest reports coming from England claim that Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain have joined the pack.
Having dropped out of the Champions League in a disappointing fashion, PSG are preparing for a summer clear-out and. A new beginning which could involve remodelling their backline is on the horizon and Alderweireld has been reportedly identified as the top target for the Parisians.
