French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Paris Saint-Germain are stepping up their efforts to sign Atletico Madrid hotshot Antoine Griezmann.
The Saints are preparing for life after Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who today announced his decision to leave the club when his contract expires in June.
And rather than recruiting a centre forward, PSG plan to move Edinson Cavani to his preferred central position and sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid to play on the left flank.
The Saints are reportedly prepared to offer around €70 million for the France star and have already established the initial contact with the player’s representatives.
Antoine Griezmann has been one of Atletico Madrid’s star performers this season, scoring 21 goals in 37 league appearances.
The 25-year-old will have a key role to play when los Colchoneros face local rivals Real Madrid in the Champions League final, with his side 11/10 shot to lift the trophy.
