Manchester United are searching for the right man to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the Old Trafford dugout, and one of the names linked most heavily is current Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino.
According to The Times, the 20-time English champions have contacted the Ligue 1 giants and asked if it would be possible to convince them to release the Argentinian tactician from his contract, set to run until the end of 2022-23, now. However, PSG refused point-blank, making it perfectly clear that they have no intention of changing their head coach in the middle of the season. It is believed Pochettino might still end up at Old Trafford eventually, but not before the end of the current campaign, regardless of any money potentially put on the table.
If United remain keen of the former Tottenham Hotspur boss, they will likely have to find an interim solution, a man to take them through the so far underwhelming 2021-22.
