Ligue 1 title holders Paris Saint-Germain are said to be on the lookout for midfield reinforcements.
With Adrien Rabiot almost certain to leave the Paris-based club in January, the Parc des Princes side has already identified Liverpool midfielder Fabinho as a potential replacement.
The former AS Monaco man is struggling to gain footing in England and PSG are prepared to offer him an escape route away from Anfield despite the fact Jurgen Klopp branded such rumours as ‘nonsense’ recently.
PSG’s transfer activity will depend on their Champions League season, however. Should Les Parisiens get eliminated from Europe’s elite competition in the group stage, Thomas Tuchel would then reschedule the midfield purchase to the end of the season.
L’Equipe reports that in that case PSG would have enough time to launch an assault on one of Europe’s highest rating midfield stars – Frenkie de Jong from Ajax.
