PSG step up chase for Moutinho; Dortmund to bid for Ebert

Radio Monte Carlo is reporting that Paris Saint-Germain have launched a new assault on FC Porto star Joao Moutinho.

The Saints are somewhat short of quality in the centre of the park and they have made the Portuguese midfielder their number one target in the summer transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain have been keeping close tabs on Moutinho for over a year and they seem ready to step up their interest.

According to Radio Monte Carlo, sporting director Leonardo has already scheduled several meetings in an attempt to lure the highly rated footballer to Parc des Princes.

Joao Moutinho has been given assurances by Porto chiefs that he will be allowed to move clubs in the summer, although he is unlikely to come on the cheap.

The 26-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of Europe’s best midfielders, has a €40 million release clause in his deal and is also followed by Tottenham, Chelsea and Monaco.

Dortmund to bid for Ebert

Spanish daily Marca understands that Borussia Dortmund are lining up a summer move for Real Valladolid winger Patrick Ebert.

The Millionaires are set for a summer shopping spree and the German midfielder is one of the players they are looking at.

Patrick Ebert only joined Real Valladolid in the summer on a free transfer from Hertha, but he has quickly caught the eye of top European clubs.

Atletico Madrid and Valencia have already enquired about the 26-year-old, but Borussia Dortmund officials hope he would jump at the opportunity to return to Germany.

Ebert has an €8million clause inserted in his contract, which is a small price to pay for such a quality footballer.

The highly rated player only clocked up 19 La Liga appearances this season as he battled with numerous injuries, but, nonetheless, registered six goals and produced as many assists for his teammates.

Vasco da Gama keen on Aimar

Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama are set to open talks with Benfica star Pablo Aimar, according to O Globo.

The experienced midfielder looks set to leave the Eagles when his contract expires in the summer and it appears he is ready to return to South America.

His former club River Plate are keen on adding him to their ranks, but it looks as though Vasco da Gama have joined the race as well.

The Brazilian club are looking to add a high-profile signing in the summer and they believe Aimar would be an excellent addition to the squad.

This time last year, the Argentine was linked with a move away from the club, but he ultimately signed a new one-year deal at Estadio da Luz.

Having seen little playing time since, Aimar is now set to leave the Eagles after spending last five years at the club.

At 33, he should still have a couple of good years left in him, which is obviously why both River and Vasco are showing interest in his services.
