Paris Saint-Germain are stepping up their efforts to sign Italian midfielder Daniele Baselli from Atalanta, reports L’Equipe.
Having been impressed by the impact of Marco Verratti, the Saints are again turning towards Italian market as they are reportedly keen on the Atalanta star.
After watching the player in action several times this season, PSG officials have established the initial contact with the Serie A side with a view of luring Baselli to Parc des Princes at the earliest opportunity.
The 22-year-old is widely regarded as one of Italy’s most talented footballers and he is heavily linked with a big club move.
Juventus and Monaco are keeping close tabs on the Atalanta starlet, but PSG do appear to be leading the chase for his signature at the moment.
After spending two seasons on a co-ownership deal at Cittadella, Baselli returned to Bergamo last summer and has since featured in 23 Serie A games.
