Despite the recent dip in form, Manchester United’s David De Gea is Paris Saint-Germain’s top priority for the upcoming transfer window, according to Marca.
The goalkeeper, who has won United’s Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award in four of the last five seasons, has long been linked with a move to Real Madrid, but the links died down considerably following the return of Zinedine Zidane to the Santiago Bernabeu dugout.
Quite apart from that, De Gea has been engaged in a stand-off with his club about signing a new contract, reportedly demanding a lot more than they believe his rightful comeuppance to be. Made slightly wiser by the Alexis Sanchez fiasco, United are reluctant to hand any player wages too big, and the Spanish shot-stopper is no exception.
His current contract was about to expire, but the club have triggered a one-year extension option to avoid losing the 28-year-old for free.
Apparently, PSG are ready to offer De Gea a staggering €24 million per year.
