Paris Saint-Germain are weighing up bid for Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez, AS understands.
The club’s Qatari owners are determined to continue their policy of recruiting world-class players to Parc des Princes and they are expected to sign few more star players in the summer.
According to AS, the Saints are showing interest in Barcelona playmaker Xavi and they have already contacted the player’s representatives.
The experienced midfielder has a contract until June 2014 at Camp Nou and he is loyal to the club, but the French giants are ready to test Barca’s resolve with a big money offer.
Xavi has an €80 million release clause in his contract and it is highly unlikely that the Catalans would accept any offer below that figure.
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo is well aware that the process of persuading the player to leave Camp Nou will be very difficult, but the Saints are, nevertheless, ready to launch an assault on the Spain international.
