Paris Saint-Germain are expected to end their interest in Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets after being informed of the asking price, L’Equipe has suggested.
It is no secret that the Saints are on the lookout for central midfielders, with the Spain international reportedly their primary target.
PSG officials have recently enquired about the possibility of signing the 27-year-old in the summer, but were in turn referred to his €175 million release clause.
This means that the Saints will not be pursuing their interest and will rather turn their attention to long-term targets Lassana Diarra and N’Golo Kante.
Both players have largely impressed this season and should be available for sale in the summer, with PSG expected to pounce.
The Saints could see Adrien Rabiot and Thiago Motta leave the club at the end of the current campaign, but key midfielder Marco Verratti will be staying after extending his deal at Parc des Princes.
