PSG to replace Thiago with Thiago

Paris Saint-Germain are hot on the trail of Santos midfielder Thiago Maia, according to Le 10 Sport.

The Saints plan to sign a long-term successor to Thiago Motta, and they have identified the Brazilian starlet as the number one candidate.

PSG scouts were impressed with the youngster’s performances for Brazil at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and the French club hope to bring him to Parc des Princes in the January window.

However, they are likely to face competition from clubs like Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, who have already shown interest in the 19-year-old footballer.

Thiago Maia has already made a total of 61 league appearances for Santos, scoring two goals, while he featured in three games at the Summer Olympics.

His suitors Paris Saint-Germain play host to Metz in the second fixture of the new Ligue 1 campaign and they can be backed at 1/2 for a half-time/full-time win.
