PSG unlikely to sell Edinson Cavani

L’Equipe is reporting that Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani is set to remain at Parc des Princes beyond the current campaign.

The Ligue 1 top scorer is believed to be looking for a way out of Paris Saint-Germain after spending last five years with the Saints, but his chances of leaving for greener pastures seem grim at the moment.

Having paid €64 million for his services, PSG will be looking to recoup a sizeable portion of the money invested in the Uruguayan, and chances are not too many sides will be ready to pay top dollar for a 31-year-old footballer.

At the same time, Cavani’s lucrative salary will also be a problem for potential buyers, so it looks as though he will be staying after all.

That could prove the best option for everyone concerned, given that the Uruguayan has scored 112 goals in just 160 Ligue 1 outings since joining from Napoli.
