According to AS, the tensions between Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid over the future of Kylian Mbappe are rising. It is now believed that the Ligue 1 champions would rather allow their young star leave for free when his contract expires that sell him to Real.
Mbappe moved to the Parc des Princes from AS Monaco in 2017, and the rise of his stock since then has been incredible. He slotted in quite seamlessly alongside the likes of Neymar and Edinson Cavani and started terrorizing opposition defences straight away.
Meanwhile, the 13-time European champions obviously believe it is their prerogative to take all the best players in the world for themselves (as do Barcelona). It was only a matter of time before their attention turned towards the 21-year-old Frenchman.
However, PSG certainly have the financial muscle to withstand any pressure into selling a player they don’t want to sell, and Mbappe is one of them. Even though his contract expires in 2022, they would rather let him go then as a free agent than to sell him to Real.
Although, they likely plan to use the time between now and then to try and get him to sign a new deal.
