According to L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Antero Henrique is facing increased pressure courtesy of the club’s inability to bring in any major new names during the summer transfer window. Thomas Tuchel, the manager, was particularly disappointed after they failed to bring in a replacement for Thiago Motta. As many fans know they were heavily linked with N’Golo Kante, but looking back, it seems as if there was no major approach to speak of.
PSG’s defeat to Liverpool in the Champions League this week really did highlight how far they have left to go if they want to challenge for the Champions League title again. That, in essence, is likely their main goal now, given that they’ve been dominating French football over the course of the last few years.
If they have another transfer window like this one, then Henrique could be on the verge of actually losing his job.
