(GSM) – PSV beat AZ 3-1 on Sunday to maintain their perfect record in the Dutch Eredivisie, while Feyenoord dropped another two points in an away match to Heracles.
PSV’s new signing Marcus Berg was of great importance to the home side, scoring the opening goal two minutes before the break.
AZ equalised six minutes after half time as defensive miscommunication allowed Erik Falkenburg’s effort to bounce in, but Berg needed just two minutes to score again and restore PSV’s advantage.
A strike from Ibrahim Afellay in the dying minutes removed any remaining doubts, 3-1.
Feyenoord failed to find the right reply to last week’s defeat at Excelsior, drawing 1-1 at Heracles in Almelo. The home side went ahead through Mark Looms in the 15th minute but Georginio Wijnaldum limited the damage for Feyenoord, equalising in the 71st.
