PSV Eindhoven are on the verge of signing full-back Ronnie Stam from Wigan, according to Voetbal International.
The Dutch right-back joined the Latics from Twente two years ago and while he had a bright start to his career at DW Stadium, he played almost no part in team’s good run of results in the second part of the current season.
The 27-year-old recently expressed his desire to leave the club in search of first team football and Voetbal International claims PSV Eindhoven could come into rescue.
With Stanislav Manolev expected to leave the club at the end of the season, the Dutch giants are searching for a new right-back and they believe Stam would be a great addition to the squad.
The player, who started his career at NAC Breda, was considered one of the best full-backs in Dutch Eredivisie when he left Twente for Wigan and PSV chiefs believes he will be able to kick-start his career in Eindhoven.
The Dutch newspaper reveals that Wigan want around €3.5 million for the highly rated defender, and PSV should have no problems matching the asking price.
