PSV Eindhoven will try everything they can to keep wonderkid Zakaria Labyad at Philips Stadion, Voetbal International reports.
The 18-year-old midfielder, who can also act as a striker, has six months left on his contract and is free to talk to interested clubs.
His father recently revealed that Labyad has been offered a contract by Sporting Lisbon, who plan to sign him on free transfer once his deal with PSV expires in the summer.
PSV chiefs are, however, eager to persuade the Moroccan that his future lies in Eindhoven and they believe the player will ultimately decide to remain at Philips Stadion.
PSV boss Fred Rutten is also prepared to talk to the player and thus help the Dutch giants keep hold of the talented youngster.
“If I can help the club by influencing him and ensure that he plays another season for PSV, then I will try my best to do so,” Rutten was quoted as saying in Voetbal International.
Labyad has been a real revelation in Dutch Eredivisie this season, having scored 3 goals in 16 league games.
