It turned out to be a frustrating Transfer Deadline Day for Arsenal.
The Gunners failed in their £90 million bid to sign the AS Monaco star Thomas Lemar who starred for France against the Netherlands on Thursday night, whereas the only positive is that Alexis Sanchez remained at the club.
Arsenal ended up loaning out striker Lucas Perez who returned to Deportivo La Coruna, while another player left the club on the final day of the summer market.
Dutch striker Donyell Malen moved to PSV, putting pen to paper on a three-year deal with the club. The 18-year-old will join PSV’s U19 squad after the international break but will do his best to try and force his way up to the first team during the current campaign.
Malen joined Arsenal in 2015 from Ajax and was mostly involved with the Gunners’ U23 side. He did get a recognition from Arsene Wenger when he was called up for a Champions League match against Olympiacos but was unable to make it into the first team for the new season.
Dutch teenager is widely regarded as a huge talent who can fill in a number of positions in the final third. Equally apt as a striker or winger, Malen represented the Netherlands through all youth selections up to the U19s.
