Dutch side PSV Eindhoven have taken Swedish striker Marcus Berg on a season long loan from Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV. Berg was a huge hit in the Eredivisie when he played for Groningen between 2007 and 2009, but was unable to replicate that form for HSV in Germany.
Berg started his career with IFK Goteborg in his native Sweden and joined Groningen in 2007. In two seasons at Groningen, he scored 36 goals in 58 games, striking at a little over 0.6 goals a game.
At HSV, his league form was poor as he could only grab four goals in thirty outings. He however had a good run in HSV’s Europa League campaign, netting six times in thirteen appearances.
