The Eredivisie side PSV have submitted a formal offer to sign the Club America defender Edson Alvarez, the Dutch media are citing reports coming from Mexico.
The 21-year-old versatile defender is a player who can easily fit in any position along the backline. The ability to cover multiple positions as the back and be also used as a defensive midfielder seems to have excited PSV who submitted €6 million to buy him outright.
The Mexico international has been linked with a move to Europe for quite a while now and PSV hope to benefit from their current Mexican stronghold.
Hirving Lozano and Erick Gutierrez proved to be highly successful Mexican signings for PSV and the Netherlands heavyweights are hoping that the presence of these two could persuade Alvarez to join in the pack.
PSV are also hoping to beat Ajax to the signature of the highly-rated Mexican but it is believed the Eindhoven-based club would need to go much further than €6 million as Club America hope to get somewhere between €14 to €15 for their key player.
