PSV Eindhoven have issued a hands off warning for one of their star men Kevin Strootman in the January transfer window – but will have a job on their hands to keep him next summer, Talk Sport reports.
Manchester United are said to be big admires of Strootman, with Sir Alex Ferguson looking to bring him to Old Trafford last summer. However, a move never materialised.
The Holland international was apparently keen to listen to interest from other clubs, with AC Milan also reportedly keeping tabs on him, but PSV were having none of it.
The Dutch giants are also not willing to sell him in the middle of the season as they do not want to lose a prized asset when mounting a challenge for the Eredivisie title and the Europa League.
PSV have the ball very much in their court as well, with Strootman committed to the club until 2016. They do not have to listen to any offers for him just yet and when they do, can make sure they really cash in on the 22-year-old.
United and Serie A giants Milan could do battle to secure his services next summer, and it is likely to come down to who has the bigger wallet.
