Voetbal International understands that PSV Eindhoven are set to sign Stijn Schaars and Santiago Arias from Sporting Lisbon.
The Dutch giants have reportedly agreed a combined fee of €1.6 million for the two players, who are set to undergo medicals at Philips Stadium.
Stijn Schaars returns to Dutch Eredivisie after spending last two years in Portugal and he arrives as a replacement for Kevin Strootman, who is set to complete a switch to Roma.
The 29-year-old has proved his worth at Estadio Jose Alvalade, but with his contract expiring in a year’s time, the Lions had no choice but to cash in on him.
Meanwhile, Santiago Arias is somewhat of an unknown quantity, having made just one league appearance for Sporting last season.
The 21-year-old defender, however, featured in 28 league games for Sporting B, and he seems to have done enough to attract interest from one of Holland’s top clubs.
