Eredivisie powerhouse PSV Eindhoven said they will inform rivals Sporting Lisbon that teenage winger Zakaria Labyad is off the market.

The Morocco Under-23 international’s contract with PSV expires at season’s end, with reports in the Netherlands suggesting that Labyad has already agreed to join Sporting for the 2012-13 campaign and beyond.

Sporting director Carlos Freitas said that PSV already know about his side’s intentions, and PSV technical director Marcel Brands was quick to fend off looming suitors for the 18-year-old’s services.

“Sporting have sent us an e-mail,” Brands told Voetbal International.

“Tomorrow we will tell them that they should leave the player alone.”

PSV claim that they have the option to extend Labyad’s contract by two years, even without the player’s consent, but the winger’s representatives reportedly believe that such an option is not valid.
