PSV Eindhoven manager Fred Rutten said his side can be considered favourites for their Europa League round-of-32 tie against Trabzonspor.
The Eredivisie giants have lost only one of their last 21 games in European competition, and Rutten is determined to keep up their good form for Thursday’s trip to Turkey.
“I expect a lot from Trabzonspor. They pulled off good results in the Champions League and they can still reach their Champions League level. But we may be considered favourites to progress to the next round,” Rutten told the official PSV website.
“We will stick to our style of play. We play the first leg away from home, so it’s crucial to score a precious away goal. And we will certainly go in search of a goal.”
“I’m really looking forward to the game; I think the Europa League is an interesting competition.”
