New Leicester City manager Claude Puel is keen to retain the services of Riyad Mahrez, according to the Metro.
The Algeria international has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium ever since he helped guide the Foxes to the Premier League title eighteen months ago but the East Midlands outfit have managed to convince him to stay put.
The likes of Chelsea and Arsenal are likely to pursue the twenty-six year old once more when the transfer window reopens but Puel, who replaced Craig Shakespeare as Leicester manager this month is keen to keep hold of his best players.
Mahrez has racked up one hundred and forty-nine appearances for Leicester in all competitions, scoring thirty-seven goals while he was named the PFA Player of the Year in 2016.
Puel guided his new side to victory in his first game in charge, beating struggling Everton 2-0 and they are now priced at 20/1 to be relegated.
