(GSM) – Olympique Lyon manager Claude Puel wants his side to continue their strong league form when they face title rivals PSG on Sunday following their mid-week UEFA Champions League drubbing at the hands of Schalke 04.

Lyon were emphatically beaten 3-0 at the Veltins-Arena despite to the knockout stages.

Domestically Puel’s side are unbeaten in seven games, of which they have won five, to rise steadily up Ligue 1.

Puel acknowledges PSG will present tough opposition tomorrow and although they have won only twice away from home in the league, they did claim a 2-1 extra-time victory at the Stade de Gerland last month in the Coupe De La Ligue.

He told olweb.fr: “This is another competition. We must build on our strong momentum against a direct competitor.

“It will be a tough game against an opponent that we faced in the League Cup. We had a very good game until the 85th minute and PSG did well. We seek to win this game.

“Is this an opportunity or a disadvantage to face PSG after Schalke 04? Neither one nor the other. After a thrashing one wants to play again soon.”

PSG start the match just one point ahead of their hosts and having enjoyed positive recent results with a win and a draw against title rivals Olympique Marseille and Montpellier respectively.
