(GSM) – Stoke City are in talks to sign former Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers forward Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco.
Gudjohnsen spent the second half of last season playing on loan in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur after failing to hold a regular first-team spot at Monaco.
Spurs’ bid to sign Gudjohnsen permanently failed to materialize and Tottenham have since switched their attention to other targets.
With Monaco eager to offload the Icelandic star, Fulham and Rangers have been tipped to make an official approach.
Meanwhile, reports suggest Stoke City are ahead in the race to sign the unsettled Gudjohnsen before the close of the summer transfer window.
